Novice I •
Novice II Our competition level obedience classes will help your dog become ring ready for any level of competition. Although these classes are geared to American Kennel Club (AKC) obedience trials, many people who don't compete with their dog enjoy taking these classes to develop increased control and a stronger bond with their dog. Pre-Novice Reinforcement of all the Basic exercises, introduction to precision performance, effective corrections, contact exposure, and AKC obedience ring protocol. Novice I* Reinforcement of performance of all standard American Kennel Club (AKC) trial requirements, additional effective corrections, and introduction to off-lead performance. Novice II* Emphasis on AKC trial performance of all standard Novice exercises. Open I* Introduction to the retrieve, jumping the wall and broad jumps, down on recall, and out-of-site stationary exercises. Emphasis on precision of off-lead performance. Open II* Reinforcement of all standard AKC Open exercises with dogs who are reliable retrievers and steady jumpers. Emphasis on AKC trial requirements for Open competition. Utility* Introduction to and reinforcement of scent discrimination, directed retrieving, directed jumping, and signal exercises. Emphasis on AKC trail requirements for Utility competition. * Basic, Novice I & II, as well as Open I & II may be combined at the discretion of the Training Committee when inadequate class registrations exist. |
