Membership Benefits Fees Meetings & Events

Next Membership Meeting: May 20, 2008; 7:00 p.m.

Membership

Before you apply for membership, we require you to train with us for at least two 8-week sessions or three 6-week sessions at the current training fee. This way, you will be able to determine whether or not WWCDTC is a good fit for you before committing to membership. You may train with us indefinitely on a pay-per-session basis if you do not wish to become a member.

When you decide to become a club member and have completed your probation period (training with us for at least two 8-week sessions - for upper level classes, or three 6-week sessions -- for puppy classes), attend your first club meeting and complete a club application form. Your name will be read at this meeting as an prospective member and you introduce yourself to the membership.  When you attend your second meeting, the membership will vote on your admittance to the club.  Members are required to attend two meetings per year.

Benefits

Becoming a member of WWCDTC means that you may participate in our various club activities. It also means that you are eligible for member rates for many of those activities, including obedience, agility and conformation classes, seminars, and 4th Friday run thrus. In addition, being a member of the WWCDTC means that you get to know many other people who share the same interest as you - DOGS!!! It can be a fun and rewarding experience working with your dog and helping others with their dogs.

Meetings and Events

We have six meetings a year. At the meetings we discuss club business and we always have a guest speaker. In the past our guest speakers have talked about guide dogs, hunting dogs, therapy dogs and many other subjects.

Summer Picnic
Every summer we have a member picnic. At the picnic we spend time with our dogs and family and enjoy the great Wisconsin outdoors. We have games and contests to see how many tricks our dogs can do. See your July newsletter for a list of ways you can help with the fun! The reservation forms will soon be available at the club.

Oconomowoc Christmas Parade
Every year we participate the Oconomowoc Christmas Parade. We all walk in the parade with our dogs. Many of us dress our dogs in angel or reindeer costumes. We even have some people who pull a Santa sleigh with their "reindogs"!

Annual Dinner
In January we get together to celebrate our dogs accomplishments. It is a great time to brag as much as we want about our furry companions.
